Virtual Terminal

A virtual terminal is the link merchants need to process payment card transactions online securely and efficiently from their own computer. Premier offers an easily accessible virtual terminal through our electronic payment gateway.

Using the computer's web browser, an Internet connection and a USB card reader, a merchant first logs into the secure website and then performs a variety of functions:

Online Shopping Carts can be integrated with the Gateway. These shopping carts allow visitors to shop online and choose items, which can be purchased immediately or stored in the cart for later purchase. These carts facilitate the collection of billing address, shipping address and payment information which will be processes by the Gateway system.

Our Gateway supports a multi-user environment, so additional users can be created and registered in the virtual terminal by the merchant account administrator. Additionally, a single user can be granted access to more than one merchant account as long as the accounts are related. The administrator also sets specific permissions for users added to the virtual terminal.

With the Payment Gateway, merchants can process all major credit cards - Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Diners Club, Carte Blanche and JCB - as well as signature debit cards and ACH payments. The Payment Gateway supports multiple entry points - including virtual terminal, batch and shopping cart integration - with robust features and functionality.

The Payment Gateway processes retail card-present transactions through its virtual terminal or through a custom integration using its web services, helping to reduce costs associated with maintaining traditional POS hardware or software.

The Payment Gateway offers an array of recurring payment tools, including a "wallet" that stores customer payment information for future use. The wallet can be associated with a customizable recurring profile that contains specific payment terms agreed upon between the merchant and the customer to facilitate recurring payment plans, and payment processing that can be fully automated for the convenience of merchants and their customers. This payment application is fully PCI compliant and PA-DSS certified.

The Payment Gateway also offers sophisticated transaction reporting capabilities that provide multiple standard and customizable reports for its users: Transaction Summary Report, Settlement Summary Report, Transaction Detail Report and Settlement Detail Report. These primary reports contain all the information and detail a merchant requires to quickly and efficiently complete reconciliation or research.

Recurring Payments

Recurring payments is a useful feature with multiple applications: memberships that require dues, subscriptions that need to be renewed and utility payments, to name just a few. Any merchant or business that would like to charge the same amount to the same payment card on a regular basis can do so with automated recurring billing. Premier offers a wide array of recurring payment tools through our web-based electronic payment gateway. Merchants can store payment information for future use in a "customer wallet" that can be associated with a customizable recurring profile.

The profile contains specific payment terms agreed upon between the merchant and customer, facilitating payment plans and automated payment processing. Recurring payments can be fully automated for the convenience of merchants and customers.

To set up a recurring payment, the merchant simply enters the specified charge once, chooses the frequency of payment (weekly, monthly, annually) and the system does the rest. The customer's card is billed and a receipt is automatically emailed directly to them.
